#VoxBox No1. #VowVoxBox!

I just received my first Vox Box in the Mail and I'm so excited to open it up!

The best part about the Influenster program is that if you quality for a Vox Box, they send you (usually) full sized products to try for free.

Wait, you don't know what influenster is?!

Influenster is an online website where you can create an account for free, review products and influence others to either buy or not buy those products.

By reviewing products and connecting to your social media accounts, you acquire a score.
This is known as your impact score.

The higher your impact score, the more people you are able to 'impact' or influence.

Every so often, Influenster comes out with Vox Boxes.
It's always a surprise until the box arrive on your door step.

Every box has a secrete theme.
To be considered for a box box, you must have reviewed products on Influenster that fall under that box's specific theme.

Then you'll get an email where you take a survey to confirm how qualified you are.

Once your given the OK, they ship you your Vox Box full of samples

It's up to you to review them on your website and share with your friends on social media.

I don't like change or trying new things.
I also don't like spending money on a new product only to be disappointed.

Influenster is great because whenever I qualify for a Vox Box, I get to try products I other wise would never purchases.

This box's theme was focused around weddings!

When I originally signed up for influenster I could not figure out how to use it and abandoned it for a few months. Then I say a friend on instagram post about how she qualified for a vix box of free products for review so I gave it another show.

Well, I'm glad I did because the products in the #VowVoxBox are fantastic! It was stuffed with 4 full sized and 1 deluxed sized product along with a 50% off discout code for Riley and Grey, a place dedicated to creating websites for soon-to-be-married couple!

If you'd like to give influenster a try, follow the link before!

My First Time: Royal Caribbean Cruise! #tbt

Back in May of 2013, I had the privileged of going on my first cruise ever!
It was amazing!!

It was also my first time visiting the Caribbean.

And, believe it or not, it was the first time I had ever taken a vacation with a boyfriend!

Coming from a conservative family, whose parents are older than most and are also immigrants, you could say I was extremely sheltered as a child.

Now, I'm thankful because I know I have a better head on my shoulders than most people do. But, back when I was a teen, I couldn't see this.

I guess you could say my anxiety level was through the roof before I told them.

But, once I got enough courage to, their response shocked me.
They told me to enjoy myself.
Wow.

Trust me, I did.

We spent a week aboard the Oasis of the Seas, the biggest cruise liner to date at the time.

We visited the Bahamas, St. Maaten and St. Thomas and enjoyed 7 days of full on sunshine.

When we were docked at the ports, we spend our mornings laying on the hot sand and swimming in the crystal clear ocean water.

On days where we were at sea, mornings were spent on the deck, laying under the caribbean sun.

During the afternoons, we would eat lunch on the ship.

Eating is one of the best parts of a cruise ship. It's all inclusive when you buy your 'ticket' so you can eat at any of the dining areas, anytime they are open,
as much as you want without paying additional money on your trip.

That's my kind of living.

After lunch, we would either head back up to the deck or explore the ship.

With 18 levels, an outdoor garden, a boardwalk, plaza and much more, there was always something to discover on the Oasis.

We never spent any time in our stateroom.

We would only return to change our clothes or get ready for dinner.

This took me about 2 hours.

But without fail, each time we returned to get ready for dinner, the wonderful cleaning staff would leave us a towel animal.

We loved our elephants!

To get ready for dinner each night,  showered, did my hair, and put on a full face of makeup.

I was also dressed formally pretty much every night.

But, that's just the way I am.

I could have worn sun dresses or jumpers for their semi-casual nights, but I enjoy being over the top.

You're on a cruise!
When else will you get the chance to dress up completely from head to toe 7 nights in a row?!
I took advantage of the oppertunity.

Formal nights were my favorite and me and Brendan could not pass up the opportunity to take a selfie to remember our vacation.

Right before dinner, Brendan and myself would also always meet up with his parents for a drink.

Although drinks are not free on cruise ships, there were more than 30 bars for us to chose from over the course of our trip.

At dinner, you enjoy the finest of dinning and a full course meals. You can order as many of whatever it is you want from the menu.

If you don't like it, just send it back. It's okay.

After dinner, you were free to either roam around the ship, enjoy a show in the theaters, or one of the parties hosted by the cruise director.

The best part about a cruise, especially to somewhere like the caribbean in a huge ship is that there's always so much to do.

You'll never be bored.
You can relax when you want.
You can eat anything anytime.
You can explore the ports.
You can enjoy time with your family.

It was one of the best vacations!

Until next time,
Ines xoxo

I WANT TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND! #tbt

This was the first picture Brendan and myself ever took together!

It was March 7, 2012 and it was my 21st birthday. Only two of my other girlfriends were 21 so I invited Brendan out with us to dinner then drinks afterwards. We had been dating for about 4 months at that point, but I was extremely nervous to have him there with me.

Talk about butterflies in my stomach all night!

I feel as though once you invite the person you are somewhat dating out with your friends, or to a family party, you're pretty much silently screaming

I WANT TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND!

I was falling hard for him. We had been dating 4 months. I had met his parents and friends. I had gone out with him and his friends. I opened myself up to him and became vulnerable. He was (and still is) wonderful. I was ready to take the next step.

And sometimes, because I am so nice, I tend to accept and trust everyone too easily. I end up misinterpreting other people intentions or I get completely taken advantage of.  Then, I'm left with feeling let down and hurt.

Back in high school, me and Brendan briefly dated for maybe 3 months. It was never anything serious and being a naive 17 year old girl, I misjudged his actions and what he wanted. He wasn't as serious as I was. I started to develop feelings but he didn't feel the same way. A few days before I had planned to tell him exactly how I felt he told me he was interested in someone else.

But that's okay!

I'm glad it didn't work out between us back then. I was an unstable lunatic who had never had a real relationship so I know for a fact I would not have been able to handle Brendan. Plus, now that I've gone through some rough patches in my life and I know what I want and I can appreciate him and everything he is and does whole-heartedly.

It's funny how you meet someone, exchange numbers and quickly start to develop feelings for them. You can't wait for the next date, the next opportunity to dress up, hold their hand and get intense butterflies.

With more butterflies comes more anxiety; Am I what he wants? Does he actually like me? Is he only trying to get into my pants? How long will we date until he asks me to be his girlfriend? Should I actually tell him how I feel, or will that freak him out?

Should I wait for him to tell me first?

First time around did not go so well, but this time, he made up for it. He apologized for the past, admitted his wrongs and told me how much I meant to him.

About a week after my birthday Brendan asked me to be his girlfriend. I am so grateful for that day. And, I can tell you with the biggest smile on my face, two years later I still get butterflies in my stomach and in my throat every time I see him.

Love is out there for everyone, you just can't go looking for it.
It needs to find you.

My Go-To Daytime Makeup:

"My Go-To Day Time Makeup Look"

I think that I enjoy being a little more glammed up during the day time at work or running errands than the average girl. This look takes no more than 10 minutes and requires very little makeup at all. I love this look because if I want to dress it up later that  night, all I have to do is add some black to the outer-v and change up the lipstick color.

On the eyes, I used 5 Makeup Geek Shadows on the lid, some eye liner and mascara. I used a little foundation and some bronzer as contour. Then, I added blush and subtle highlighter. Finally, I just grabbed a lip gloss, applied it to my lips, and set the whole look with Urban Decay;s setting spray. Before you know it, I was out to the door and off to work.

If you want to find out what I used to recreate this look, keep reading!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love this look because you can easily use all the products, take some away or add a few more depending on how long you have to get ready, how many products you are looking to use and where you are going.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) First I wash my face and pat it dry. Then I apply my daily facial moisturizer. My favorite is by Aveeno. Then I apply Benefit's Porefessional Primer. Although you can apply foundation right away, I like to give it a few minutes to settle into my skin.

*If you are in a rush or just looking for a minimalistic approach to applying your makeup, you can skip this step!

2) While the primer sets, I like to do my eyes. All 5 shadows are from Makeup Geek, my favorite!
- Start with #1 (Shimma Shimma) and apply it to the inner half of the eye.
- On a fluffy brush, take #2 (Latte) and apply it all over the crease as the blending color.
- Now use #3 (Bling) as the brow highlight. Don't worry we will go back at the end.
- Apply #4 (Bada Bing) on the outer half of the lid and as the outer-v color.
- Go back with #2 and blend the outer-v into the crease.
- Apply some more #1 to the inner half of the lid.
- Take #5 (Mocha) and with a clean fluffy brush, use this as the transition color between #2 and #4. Apply this to the crease, but don't blend up too much.
- Finally, go back to the brow bone with #3 and reapply it, making sure to be very light handed. I'll also dust some of #5 underneath my lower lash-line.

*This look can be modified by either adding black to the outer-v to smoke up the look for a night out, or for a more simplistic look, you can use less than the 5 recommended shadows.
*Colors can also be swapped out, to make this a more pink, blue, purple etc look, depending on the type of look you want to achieve.

3) Next I apply some eyeliner to the lower waterline, and some mascara to the lashes. My favorite liner at the moment is Urban Decay's 24/7 Velvet Eyeliner, which I got in a sample size from Ipsy. After I coat my top lashes with Maybelline's Mega Plush and the bottom with Colossal Volume.

4) Now it's time for me to apply my favorite foundation! This foundation goes on my skin so smoothly and blends in perfectly. It doesn't make me look like a clown and looks so natural! I am in L'Oreal True Match color W6. It's great because it has sunscreen and I for me personally, it has medium/full coverage. I always apply this with my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush. I use patting motions and never buff with circular motions. I have combination skin (random dry patches and some oily areas) and as soon as I start buffing some of the foundation will unpleasantly stick to the dry patches and it will look flaky. When I use patting motions with my F80, it never irritates the dry areas. It always looks flawless and smooth. I make sure to apply this over my ears with whatever is left on the brush and I also take it down my neck and onto my collar bones for an even blended look.

5) Typically, I use a concealer to highlight under my eyes and what not. But lately I have been using the Lorac Breakthrough Performance Foundation to do this. Now that it is summertime and I've been out in the sun, the color I have of my Lorac foundation is a little too light. So I take some and create triangles under my eyes and blend that down onto the tops of my cheeks and out, towards my temples. This creates a great highlight. whatever extra product I have on my finger tips I apply to the bridge of my nose, on my chin and also on the center of my forehead.

 6) Now that the whole face is taken care of, we can focus on the cheeks. I take my bronzer brush and apply The Balm's Mahama Mama to the contour of my cheeks, sides of my nose, as well as temples and top of my forehead.
-When I am contouring my cheeks, I usually blend the bronzer onto the cheeks and up to the temple, around the eye. Not only does this make the countour less 'BOOM' it also will blend nicely with the blush.

*Contouring is something I enjoy doing as part of my makeup routine, but of course it is not necessary, so feel free to skip this step!

7) Then I will go in with MAC's Melba blush and a giant brush. I first found out about this blush from Jaclyn Hill in her top 10 favorite blushes and boy was she spot on! This has been my go to blush for ALL my looks. I even decided to move it into my pallet for easy access!
-Sweep this heavy on the apples and buff it back along your bone.

8) Now, I take my Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm and sweep it right under my eyes, along the top most edge of my cheeks. This looks absolutely beautiful when the light catches it.
-I also take some and apply it atop of my brow bone highlight.
-I also love to add this to the inner corners of my eyes

*Don't forget to buff your bronzer, blush and highlight together for a seamless, natural blend!
*Set with Urban Decay (or your favorite) makeup setting spray.

9) Apply your favorite lip product! In the picture to the left is BH Cosmetic's Galaxy Chic. On the Right is MAC's Snob. this look will also loog beautiful with a burnt orange lip, a nude lip or a cranberry lip. You can also rock your favorite Chapstick!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 The finished product:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What if you wear glasses?!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the reasons why I love this look so much is that I can still wear my glasses!

I don't look like a clown trying to cover up my makeup with my glasses, and I also don't look like a hot mess, trying to compensate for lack of makeup with my glasses.

The makeup will still be noticed, and I can still see!

What's your favorite makeup product?! Share in the comments!

Until next time,
Ines xoxo
