Book Review: My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares

Hello world!

It's been a while since I last blogged, so now that the Thanksgiving Holiday is over, I finally have time to talk with you guys and write down whats been on my mind.

About three years ago, I read a wonderful book titles My Name is Memory by Ann Brashers, the same author who wrote The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.

I came across this book while in Target and after reading the back cover I had to have it.

"Daniel has spent centuries falling in love with the same girl. Life after life, crossing continents and dynasties, he and Sophia (despite her changing name and form) have been drawn together-and he remembers it all. For all the times that he and Sophia have been connected throughout history, they have also been torn painfully, fatally, apart. But just when Sophia (now "Lucy" in the present) finally awakens to the secret of their shared past, the mysterious force that has always separated them reappears. Ultimately, they must come to understand what stands in the way of their love if they are ever to spend a lifetime together."

The book is left on the most unbearable cliffhanger and because it didn't sell as well as her other more known novels, the publishing company won't publish a sequel until they see the audience's need for it.

Every so often I do a Google search to see if there have been any updates. This morning, I was in one of those moods and came across a change.org petition to have a sequel published. Brashares has mentioned on twitter and her website that she meant for this story to be a three-book-series and has 'more to write'. Whether or not the petition will work or get the publishers attention, I have no idea, but of course I signed it!

For those of you who have read this magnificent love story, take 10 seconds and click here to go to change.org and sign the petition. We need 200 signatures and are about 40 short!

For those of you who have not yet read this young adult novel, click here to order a copy on amazon! Once you've finished, which won't take long because you'll refuse to put it down, come on back and follow the link to change.org and sign the petition.

Until next time,
xoxo Ines
