The Perfect Relationship

He works. She Works.

They split the bills.

At night time, they order in, 

and catch up on their favorite TV shows.

They joke about how stupid people can be.

She gives him a back rub. He makes her lunch.

Their sex life is unbelievable.

They don't want anyone else.

Ever.

She gets along with his family. He gets along with her family

She wants a Pug. He wants a Mastiff.

They settle for one of each. 

He opens up to her. She opens up to him.

They tell eachother everything.

No secrets.

Ever.

Amazing sex.

All the time.

Yes.

He tells her how annoying his friends are.

She tells him how annoying her friends are. 

But seriously, they love their friends.

He's her support. She's his support.

They respect one another.

Always.

Together they go fishing.

Together they go dancing.

He can be honest. She can be honest.

No judging.

He can't stand that she is always late.

She can't stand that he's always early.

They love eachother for it.

He knows her coffee order.

She knows 

He has a bad day. She has a bad day.

They never take it out on eachother.

He hates cooking.

She hates cleaning.

Nothing a little compromising can't fix.

It's never worth a fight.

The most important thing is that,

He loves her. She loves him.

They are perfect for each other.

What to pack for an alaskan cruise:

Recently, I had the pleasure of going on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska. 

It was amazing!

The few weeks before the trip, I found myself googling what to pack but came up empty handed. 

I wasn't sure what to do.

Brendan was helpful, but that's because he had been to Alaska once before.

What if you don't have the same luck that I had? 

What if you don't know anyone who's visited Alaska before? 

Hopefully that's where this blog will help you!

I did find some other blog posts, but their list included items of clothing I didn't own or didn't plan on packing regardless of their suggestions.

Some of those things included thermal clothing, hiking books, a backpack and emergency supplies.

I did go out of my way to purchase a pair of sneakers specifically for the trip, but besides that, everything else I packed I had available in my closet.

It was important for me to be prepared.

I wanted to be able to take off layers if the sun was out on shore. 

I also wanted to be able to bundle up for the colder days out at sea.

I wanted to be comfortable, but still uphold my cute, girly sense of style.

So, when I did my packing I tried to take into consideration everything. 

And, since I tend to over pack, I did end up bringing a lot of things I did not need.

This is what I packed:

3 pairs of jeans

Unfortunately most of the clothes I packed I didn't even wear.

I didn't wear any of the jeans, dressy tops, fuzzy socks or the scarf. 

My problem is that on the Caribbean Cruise I went on, we spend a lot of time exploring the ship. 

We had time to get ready and look good.

We had the time to change as many times as we wanted to throughout the day.

Alaska is different. 

You spend all morning and afternoon doing a 6 hour excursion. 

You come back to the ship exhausted and ready for a late lunch. 

You nap for two hours and then it's time to get ready for dinner.

The ship is not big enough to explore. 

It's too cold to lay out on the deck.

It's just different.

I wore a t-shirt and black yoga pants almost every day.

On top of that, depending on the temp, I either wore my thin zip up or pull over sweater.

Then I always wore my neon pink wind breaker on top and topped my head with my ear muffs :-)

Anything extra I needed that day (more layers, gloves…) I put in a huge tote bag that I brought along with me on land excersions.

Now taking all that into consideration, lets look at the list again.

This time I will cross off what I wouldn't repack, and add in a 

different color things I 'forgot'.

Something that I found super helpful when packing was to 

have a carry on suitcase and a 

checked piece of luggage. 

This give me more room for souvenirs and reassured me that 

my checked luggage would always be 

below the 50 lb airline limit.

Fall 2014 Nail Color Trends | 5 Brands, 5 Colors, 1 Season

Happy Sunday Ladies and Gents!

Can you believe that's its already September 15th ?! 

I'm still in denial. 

With September comes first days of school, which means I've been super busy back in my classroom. It also means I've started my last undergraduate semester of classes. (YAY!) Not to mention now that summer had gone, beach days and BBQs are pretty much over. 

With Autumn just around the corner I figured I needed to stop being in denial and slowly transition into the season. 

Why not start by talking about nail color trends for this fall 2014.

So…
here are the top 5 nail colors i'll be rocking all fall.

Usually, I wear pastels, brights and neons on my hands and feet.

For fall, I love wearing dark colors. 

Don't get me wrong, occasionally I'll throw in some brights and neons, but the change in season also brings on some change in the colors I typically wear.

Crimson looks great on all nail types and lengths! It's also completely wearable with almost any fall clothing and accessories! I find myself wearing lots of grey, brown and evergreen tones in the autumn seasons so Crimson polish will never clash or look like a sight for sore eyes.

Orange

Whether it's a burn orange or a vibrant orange, something about the color screams fall. Maybe it's because it reminds me of pumpkins or possibly because I'll match the foliage on the trees, but whatever it may be, I gravitate towards the orange nail color. This is my chance to get away with a more neon looking orange, since every shade can be found around us during this time of year.

Dark gray

You can't go wrong with this color. It can dress up or down your outfit, but it always looks classy. It reminds me or wrapping myself up in a soft and warm wool sweater on a crisp autumn afternoon. Blue

Just because we transition into fall, and the color schemes becomes a little bit more dull and lackluster doesn't mean our polish choices have to do the same. I keep is exciting with a beautiful shade of metallic-y blue. The color really pops against the dark tones of clothes in a fall outfit and screams that I'm not afraid of a little color.

Evergreen

Towards the end of autumn, I get in the mood for evergreen polish on my nails. Something about a jeweled tone emerald with a little bit of sparkle on my nails screams, bye bye fall, hello winter. With winter comes Christmas. It's the perfect transition color between seasons and even more appropriate to wear on the nails. I also love how this polish has glitter and sparkle! It makes for not only a great accent nail but also an all-nail color.

Loreal true match review

I've been using L'Oreal True Match (W6) for a little over a year now so I've really gotten the chance to test out this product.

I originally went for it because Nicole Guerriero raved about in on her youtube channel, along with some of my other favorites. 

Prior to purchasing this product I had used the Madeline mineralized loose powder foundation and repurchased several times.

But, I wanted to try a new brand and formula. So I went with this one.

Since the very first day it has not disappointed. 

It has the smoothest application whether you use a brush, beauty blender or your fingers.

I notice that the foundation doe oxidize over the first hour. 

But, the oxidization works to my advantage as I feel like the pigments change to match my skin tone more consistently. 

Regardless if I put on a very thin layer, or build up the coverage with several layers, it's never caked on my face. 

I'm naturally oily in the T-zone so I have to set it with a setting spray. 

It doesn't rub off onto other peoples clothes, which is important to me because I always greet and say good bye to friends and family with a hug. 

The foundation is liquify, where is you apply a drop to the top of your hand, it will slide around, but this formula makes it so that you don't have to work it into the skin too fast. 

It does take a few minutes to dry, but once it dries, it's flawless. 

It does a great job on covering up my redness and veins, and even my acne scares and other imperfections. 

After doing a little research on the website, I've found out that there are 33 shade.

Color options run from extremely fair skinned all the way to the totally opposite end of the spectrum.

L'Oreal has made selecting your correct shade of foundation a little easier by offering

Now, it's my holy grail product and I don't leave home without it!

It's everything you hope a foundation to be.
